No, I Will Accompany My Child to The Bathroom!

The other day I went to an outdoor swimming pool near me to inquire about swim lessons for our girls.  While I was asking the front desk worker questions pertaining to classes, Aunna says, "Mom, I have to go to the bathroom!"  Before I could answer, the female worker said, "It is around the corner to the left."  I quickly told Aunna not to move and that I will go with her.  The female worker then said, "It's just around the corner, I don't think anyone is in there."  I thanked the lady but told her that I don't let her go  y herself.

Unfortunatley, now a day you can NOT let your young children go to public rest rooms by themselves.  I have heard of horrific stories where parents, aunts, uncles, etc. have allowed young kids to enter public restrooms by themselves, only to either be raped, kidnapped or murdered.  I will never forget the story I read many years ago about a lady who allowed her 7 year old nephew to go into the mens restroom alone at a highway rest stop.  She waited and waited and after a long time, she went in only to find his blood plaster all over the restroom and his dead, lifeless body on the floor.

Moms, I am not one to inject fear, but we MUST be aware of the evil times we live in.  I do not have a son, but women, don't let your young sons go into mens public restrooms alone.  And dads, don't send your young daughters into those female restrooms alone!

Times have changed so much.  I remember when I was young, parents would leave kids in cars while they quickly ran into the store and not fear that the kids will be kidnapped.  But today, we just have to keep our eyes and ears open.  Trust me, I am not perfect!  I have turned my back for an instant and thought later, "Wow, somthing crazy could have happened."

My daily prayer is that God PLEASE give me wisdom to discern and lead me as mom.  I will pray the same for you.

Until we meet again,
Angela
